I need help for breeding my Psalmopoeus Pulcher, the ultimate molt of my male was on january 31, and the last molt of my female was December 8. The female is around 6 inches DLS, and the male 4.5-5 DLS, what should I do.. I also notice that the male is looks longer compare to the female since the male when resting is stretched out while the female is bulky and doesnt stretch that much

Have you ever paired tarantulas before?

If not do you have a plan for all the slings if you get a good sac?

I wouldn't recommend breeding this species as your first. Although they aren't difficult to breed, Psalmopoeus females can be a lot to handle when you are taking their eggsacks from them.

Males are leggier in general, females being more “stouty/chubby”. Which could be what you are seeing.

if you are going to breed, as others have said, i do recommend you have a buyer/dealer ready. It would be sad to have spiderlings that you can’t manage once they grow.

It's my first time breeding alboreal tarantula, i've already tried breeding a couple of terrestrial tarantula species.

Yes, I have paired tarantulas before, mostly terrestrials like the hamoori, albo, chaco. which mostly I already sold all of them and gifted to my fellow keeper friends, and kept 3 individuals.. First time ill be trying to breed alboreals and want to know some tips and then I want to breed the specific sp of p. pulcher since here in the philippines its quite rare/uncommon and expensive and can be easily sold out quickly.

I'm also planning to keep around 5 slings if ever its a success because I really love the looks of the tarantula, mostly i'll trade some for a female maybe a another uncommon/rare species which I can keep, because mostly I keep here is common t's want to add more to my collections. I have to be exact number of 54 sp (including the scorpions and one centipede)

Update: The pairing was successful! I did three pairings since the male was somewhat scared of the female, but the female was responsive and eager to mate. During the first pairing, the female was receptive, but the male was not. The second time, the male performed better, though I wasn't sure if it was successful. The third attempt was a success! Wish me luck with the slings! Thanks!
