Very nice Steven! you did really well to manage to get some of these. What temperatures are you keeping them at? I'd really like ot have some, but i don't think i could keep them cool enough, my house gets very warm in the summer. A basement or garage would be an ideal place to keep them.

Have you seen any of them feeding yet?

Cheers,

thanx you'all

well,.. it laying eggs doesn't mean i'm gonna be succesfull in hatching these,... so better wait a bit and wait and see what's gonna happen,...

i'm keeping these in my garage,... where the max.temp is around 19°C,... at night it's around 15-16°C

i haven't caught any feeding,... only found some leftovers of small crickets in some glue-isch stuff,... i think they wait till 3.00 in the middle of the night to go on hunting

And if you really want to know the price:
i paid 5euro each incl. shipment :)

The temp sounds just about ideal, i really hope you have success with these. It's a shame they only turn up so periodically in the European trade. I don't think there is much you can do with the eggs other than keep them damp and cool. i do seem to remember reading a really good article about rearing these. I'll have a hunt around and see if i can find it.

Update?

Hey, Steven!
How about an update? How are they doing? What happened to the "eggs"?

Hey Johan

only 2 are still alive,...
others just seemed to have disappeared
:? :(

and the eggs also have completly melted away,... while the temp never was above 19°C

guess they even require lower temps then 19°C,...(maybe 10° or 5° ???)
i'm thinking of placing them inside the fridge if i get a hold on some again :)

i'll wait and see what happens whith the survivers on low roomtemp.

sorry i havent been keeping an eye on the thread, but the temp really needs to stay in single figures.
i did notice that it's very rare to find remains, they simply just melt away. i was only successful (limited success) with them once i started to keep them directly on a concrete floor in a corner of the garage

Too bad :(
I think there is a better chance of success with tropical species, not easy to come by though....
