Well, I have had these four guys for about 4 weeks now and are now settled in and eatting well. Mine are eatting the rotted tree bark and a little dirt. Not a good pet to watch though. They curl up at the slightest movement. Hard to take photos because they freeze after opening the lid.
Still look good though.....fingers still crossed....

Steven has been my main man for information. I just hope I can get some eggs out of these. They would not be alive if not for his ideas on the tank set up !!
Does anyone know if the eggs are in their pellets like the Giant African blacks?

I have a good idea these guys will do okay and doubt they have a long life span. I really wish they were not so shy. I guess that means they are healthy.
I place a calcium pill in the tank every week or so but so far they seam to ignor it.

Big ??? They are not full grown yet !!

I can't wait. They max out about the size of a golf ball.

Hi Bob,

I had some questions about your pill millipedes.

Are you just feeding your millipedes rotted tree bark?
What kind are they, and are they still alive?
Where did you get them from?

I've heard that pill millipedes don't last very long, the theory being
that the microorganisms in their gut die off when they are transported.
I'm somewhat skeptical of this, being that the temp they say they die at
is around 70 F.

Thanks for your help.

I've always like the big, black ones. Can you link to the pix?I couldn't find them.I've seen some tan ones come in that were about the size of shooter marbles, but I have held out for trying my luck with these bigger ones. Please be elaborate on your explanation of diet and keeping parameters.Any chance probiotics would help? You could dust thier food with the probiotics for reptiles and see if you can get the gut flora/fauna back up and running.Maybe find the wood termites have been eating and take some of that,it may have some termite gut bacteria innoculate in it and would be a help. These are just soooo dang cute.{D

Hello,

Do you currently have Pill millipedes?
If so, what are you doing to keep them.

Thanks

Thomas Bracken,
I forgot about those guys. No, they did not live past about four months or so. After their molt , they did not harded kike they should have. They seemed to do better at temps in the lower 60's F. These were the Madagascar green pills. I don't remember where I bought them but I will not do them again.
