I'm trying to get some clear gonadopod photos of my mystery millipedes for Todd Gearheart (who's identifying them for me). So far I've had no luck. Any suggestions for photographing small, fast millipedes who are reluctant to pose for the camera?

You could always try refrigerating them for a few minutes. I know it works for some people when they have to deal with agressive T's. As for how long you should do it, I have no idea.

Sorry,

I think I will try that because I certainly can't get them to hold still long enough to get a good photo otherwise, though a friend did suggest trying to get a photo through the bottom of a petri dish.

I hope I don't end up killing one in the fridge, though, I really want to trade these guys.
