Just found a long bodied cellar spider and currently have it in a tall deli cup until I get more advice. It's not safe for it around the house with 2 dogs and a cat roaming about. It's also too cold outside so I was wondering if anyone had any tips for keeping one. I have dubias and red runners (and plenty of nymphs) as well as some fruit flies that I can feed it but as far as setting it up in some sort of enclosure what size would be recommended? I'd say he or she (Haven't confirmed yet) is about 1.5-2.5 inches across the legs.

They will park just about anywhere. Preferred habitat is up near the ceiling in a corner, so any quiet containment should work fine. But expect a heck of a mess of web and debris after a few months. They are not exactly neat housekeepers.

Try to keep a few horizontal sticks near the lid wedged or glued so that when you open the lid the web is not destroyed
They are very enthusiastic eaters takingprey many many times larger than themselves but be careful with anything that bites
