"pet" scorpion in apartment, ok?

I am moving in 2 months to an apartment complex, where exotic pets aren't allow. and I have a "pet" scorpion. I was wondering if a scorpion would be considered a exotic pet in the complex's eyes, or more like just having an ant farm
Since it's a invert, if I sneaked the scorpion in the apartment and they later found out, could they fine me or evict me?
afriad of asking them about the scorpion cause it seems like me asking them about having a scorpion might freak them out. anyone ever had a scorpion or scorpions in an apartment with a no exotic pet rule?

The only way to know for sure is to ask them. If you don't want to be direct you could ask what constitutes an exotic pet and that you've been wanting to get a scorpion. Odds are they will consider it one though.

Sadly, I do believe they fall under "exotic pets". Of course, asking would yield the best results on the matter, but the odds are that it probably will be considered as such

Depends if it's a local or exotic species. Get a local species and if they complain, say it's not a exotic pet, it's a local pet. I think if they allow dogs and cats but won't allow a scorpion which takes up half a dresser/countertop then I don't know what

I'm not saying this is the right thing to do, but I lived in an apartment that had a no snakes rule. My room mate kept two red tail boas in his closet. Most apartments will inform you when they're planning to do an inspection or work. It being a scorpion you could just cover the cage with a piece of clothing on the floor of the closet and they'd be none the wiser.

I doubt they would evict you over a scorpion either. That would cost them money.

You can ask if an "aquarium pet" is ok. My apartment complex allows pets with a deposit for each pet you have. I asked if that applied to caged small pets, and they said that no deposit was required since they wouldn't be roaming around the apartment breaking things and leaving odors. My policy is, if they don't ask specifically what I have, I don't volunteer the info. Or, and I am not condoning this, just don't say anything and keep it hidden when you aren't there or when they are doing inspections.

I realize you are in Michigan but I find it funny if apartment complexes in states like AZ would charge some kind of fee when H. arizonensis, C. sculpturatus, etc are running around all over and likely live in the walls and under the rocks of the property lol.

I once lived in a house where the landlord prohibited exotic pets; funny thing is, this is when I had a chinchilla, two toads, and some fish. What they usually worry about is owning illegal pets (lets say ferrets or rare parrots, tortoises, alligators, etc) or pets that might cause damage or disturbance. You should try to get some clarification from the landlord. I had to prove that it was legal to own a chinchilla (since you cannot hide the fact that you have one and they are in fact legal in many places.) I also had to walk her through all the steps I'd take to insure he wasn't causing damage to the house. Then we never spoke about it again.
So unless you're not on good terms with your landlord, you can always ask about aquarium pets and if they DO find out about the scorpion you can always ensure them that a scorpion is only a small step up from a pet rock. They emit no odor, they're legal, harmless, etc. You may want to clarify that it is impossible for it to escape too.

I'm not condening any illegal behavior nor am I advicing you on what you should do. But IF it was ME, I'd keep my scorpions and not say a word about it to the tenants or landlord. I keep all my scorps in a cabinet anyways so if they were to come in they're not obvious or in the open. Again that's just what I would do.
