Peat/Vermiculate mix

I just switched my A. geniculata and B. vagans' substrate from peat to peat/vermiculate mix. Neither of them seem to like it, as the A. geniculata has taken roost upon his log, and the B. vagans is hiding in a tube. I was going for about 70/30 peat/vermic. But I think I'm actually around 60/40 or 55/45 peat/vermic. Would this cause the t's to feel unstable?

I am posting a picture to show the distribution of vermiculate into the peat. What do you think? Too much?

I have heard alot of people say their t's don't like vermic. I personally prefer mixing peat moss with potting soil, which has worked great for me for years.

I used straight vermiculite for many years without too many problems. I later tried peat moss and found that my T's seemed to be more relaxed on it. I did encounter some mold issues with peat . I recently started using roughly a 50/50 mix of peat and vermiculite which seems to work well.
