Now this is Pearl and she's not mine she belongs to Nemesis_112 and he sent me the pics all happy cuz his lil snake ate. This is his first snake and he's really happy to have her. I figured if he isn't gonna post the pics then it couldn't hurt for me to post them and just say that it's his snake.

Nice!

I went to the zoo with a friend of mine, and when we walked into the reptile room, the snakes were being fed mice. I said, "Oh, how cool!" My friend freaked out and nearly ripped my arm out of it's socket to get out of there! =D

a few years ago I was at the San Diego Zoo's Komodo dragon exhibit when it was feeding time....the dragons were probably 6 or 7'. the keeper was tossing them large rats and the dragons would toss back the rat and swallow them whole! that was a sight to see, I was so fascinated I forgot to take pictures........

Great pics, you guys. No matter how many times I've seen snakes eat, it's always awesome to see feeding pictures, especially with hots.

Atavuss, the Denver Zoo here also has a Komodo Dragon exhibit. I would love to check out feeding time there. Must be quite the sight.

While we're on the subject of feeding pics, here's a couple from a friend's site.
Gaboon swallowing a rat

Eastern Diamondback Rattler shortly after a meal

My favourites are arboreal. I love watching a snake eat while completely suspended from a branch. I ought to take some pics of my amazon tree boa or jungle carpet python eating. Some of the other snakes will put on the same type of show (my deckert's ratsnake, for example) but they don't do it as regularily.

Cheers,
Dave

Great feeding pics, Dave. What is the snake in the 2nd pic? Is it a Mexican black kingsnake (L. g. nigrita)?

Bry,

Yep. She actually coiled up on the pinkie in the air. I went to grab for my camera and the pinkie's tail broke, though, so she was on the ground like that. Made for an interesting picture, anyhow.

Dave
