Well, after staring at this little P. nigricolor for the past five weeks I decided to go ahead and buy it tonight. I'm having a bit of trouble finding any information on them. So far I have ascertained that she is terrestrial and very, very angry but thats about it. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Congrats!

They're awesome slings like all Pamphobeteus spp.

You'll really enjoy it I'm sure, they're always hungry.

Here's a recent pic of one of my slings...

Awwwwww, how cute! I've got three that appear to be the same size. I keep them on potting soil/peat mix, dribble water on about 1/4 and keep that much damp. Have hides provided. Feed all they want to eat. I'm treating them the same way I treat P. cancerides and V. platyomma, and so far, so good. Good luck with your newbie.

You folks are certainly right about the appetite, so far the little buggar has taken three medium crickets. I'm glad she has taken so well to her new enclosure, the pet shop had her flattened out in a squat deli dish with a bit of sphagnum moss, a sponge and a rotting cricket. Here's her new home...

Very nice new home. Mine is a ghetto t, lives in a tupperware container, not a condo t like yours seems to be. My little one is very hungry most of the time, and although isnt outwardly aggressive, I get the butt in the air look every time I go near its container. Still at the one molt a month stage, mine is also eating about three .. sometimes four.. crix a week. Fantastic pic by the way !! Really shows off the great color these guys have as babies.

Nice spider shame the females are all just typical brown spiders cus only the males get the nice puprple colouring onmatureity the most the fems get is a tiny bit on the carapace.

Oh? Have they finally done that? It certainly seems it should be done, but I'd never heard that it was actually accomplished.

The magic of pamps...

I Love pamps! Period. Your pamp abode is perfect, while they are not obligate burrowers they will employ a half shell retreat like you have furnished for her. Aggressive and skittish, not too bad, and they will eat like hogs.
Shame the market right now is void of pamps, we need to get some slings brought into the world. Pamps... :} :)

I've just been looking at these today - I thought I was seeing a pic of an A. minatrix when I saw the sling coloration on Google(thinking of getting A. minatrix as a second to P. irminia). I was disappointed to read that they loose this beautiful coloration. I would get it, but I'm not much into terrestrials. However, their fiestiness interests me. I do love cobalt blues afterall.

From the pictures of P. nigricolor I have seen, the colors/pattersn seem to slowly fade as they get larger. I have a female that's about 3.5" which i've had since a sling and she's still got the nice bright orange with black triangles on her opisthosoma. I rehoused her yesterday and in a few quick strokes *poof*, bare bottom! But I have a feeling the next molt her colors will start to darken. Great T overall with a fair temperament, choosing to flick hairs and hide rather than throw up a defense pose.
