Here's a picture of my babe a few days before it molted. I took more recent pics and man is it beautiful...if only picipici worked...

PS: Does anyone know of a website besides picipici.com that provides the same service (remote linking etc.)???

Hate to be the bearer of this...

Well there is accually mutiple things that make this spider a suspicious P. Subfusca. Lets start by compareing other photos of P. Subfusca. For example his spider has no dark brown center of the carapace, its a light tan. Second the design on the opisthosoma is not the correct design for a P. Subfusca. The whole color of the spider is incorrect. Even if it were a male, color fading found in males is progressive with age. And the last piece of evidance is the fact that I own a possitivly I.D. Sri-Lankan Oranamental...His is an EXACT copy of mine. And mine's a girl. That's how I know. If you look at photos you will see the differences I have pointed out. Hope this cleared the confusion up!!

Now that I think about it....

It could be a P. Formosa. If you could provide ventral (under) photos I could give you 100% accurate I.D. for my Pokie chart. But that's definatly not a Subfusca...sorry.
P.S. did you pay a large sum for a Subfusca?

I will provide you guys with a ventral view tomorrow...thanks for all the info!

I got it rather cheap for a "subfusca" but if its any common poec I definitely paid too much for it...

Rip off?...

Well I'm sorry to hear that...That's accually how I attained my Sri-Lankan. She was sold to me as a P.Formosa, a VERY similar Pokie...Still a very nice one though, this is the third or fourth case like this I've heard of...hmmm what's going on out there with the suppliers?...

Phil...how big is that specimen? Mine is close to 3"...again I will give you guys a ventral view tomorrow

I'm rather pissed off that this is most likely not a subfusca...I've had my suspicions as well after looking at some pics...

bummer, but I'd say no on the subfusca either...
I've not seen one that looks anything like it. My guess at first was formosa, or fasciata as well
