I'll post pics tonight or tomorrow of the lump now. And the more I look at her the more I am thinking of a second surgery. But I might wait one molt to see if there is a change for the better first.
You may try the syringe/needle method if you should try it again, TL. It seems less invasive and leaves a smaller wound to seal. It should also reduce the area for bacteria to possibly invade. Oh and maybe a slight local antiseptic to clean the site prior to doing it. Just a suggestion. Oh and nice job on the first surgery. You're a natural.

Ya that was suggested, I was thinking that too, but like stated earlier in the thread he wouldnt know if he was going to suck out any vital organs or not. I hope that spider pulls this through though

I would think if it's like an infectious sac it would be incapsulated from the general abdominal organs. If you should elect syringe therapy I would think you could exaspirate the contents of the capsule without any other goodies if you weren't too agressive with the draw. Just MO, either way you do good work, TL.

I would be very interesting to see the contents of the lump under a microscope. Do you know anybody who could look at it? Maybe a vet who wants to help in groundbreaking research?

I wonder about bacterial or parasitic content. We know so little about these hernias!

wow

This is very interesting. Glad she made it. Did I miss it or do you know what the lump was? I have never seen anything like that on my T's is why I ask. I have seen what look like rub spots but that is it really.

Hi Ryan! I've just read the whole story about your rufilata. When I saw the video and the pics about the surgery, I was very impressed...seriously......I immediately phoned to my friend, who will be a surgeon (he's in the last year of his study) and sent him the link. He was impressed to...Have you ever considered to study medicine? We both think, you would be a great surgen...............I hope she will be OK....Please keep us updated, this thread (series of threads) is fascinating...

PS. If a second surgery will be needed, I hope you will record it...It would be a great inspiration for other T keepers with similar problems...IMO nothing is more frustrating than see as your animal is dying and you can't do anything to help him...:(

Oh god that looks horrible! Any idea how that happened? How did you do this "surgery" to help it out?

Sorry first time hearing about this story.
