You should've seen her go for that mealworm! Even tho it's been 5 months since she last ate she was not out of practice! She striked the mealworm perfectly, silently and deadly! It was totally awesome! Man it must taste good since she haven't been eaten for 5 months! I thought she was in premolt :D

Cool!! And P. regalis is a FUN species to watch eat. Mine tackles and makes all kinds of noise doing it. If she chooses not to eat while I'm watching, I can always tell when she finally does get the food because of all the darn noise that comes out of that enclosure!

Have fun!

They're so much fun. If the cricket gets away and as long as it doesn't get too far, mine is tenacious going after it. She'll try to break through her bark, dig under the dirt, or rip down plants if need be. Her little legs go everywhere reaching and trying to grab 'em. She's like a cat!

Interesting yours stopped eating for so long. The only time mine has refused to eat was when a molt was imminent, like a day or so away.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person who gets excited when they eat.

My GBB sling just gobbled up three pinhead crickets since it molted a little over a week ago. Hasn't eaten in weeks. I got the camera out. :) I'm such a dork

My subadult regalis went off food for a while, too, and I also thought she was going to molt and didn't bother offering food for a few weeks seeing as she wasn't interested in any before. One while making rounds, I offered her a large Dubia nymph and she took it with untold gusto!
