I was wondering if someone was going to pick up on that. Adie is my other girl. :D I am reading the Temple of The Winds right now. I read when I can, but I have made more time lately to do so and have been tearing through the series.
I can't wait till mine gets that big. Its an inch now and still amazing to look at. As most of us know, pokies, especially p. met, get better with age or molts in this case. Awesome spider!

Sword of Truth, favorite series hands down. The later books aren't as good but still good in my opinion.

Oh what wonderful photos. Look at the eyes ! The lower 2 don't look like normal 'T-eyes' to me - they seem to have a 'different' lighter brown section running through the center of them... Is this the case with all Pokies, just metallica's, or just yours ! And is that eye more evolved and capable of better sight than the others, or T's eyes in general ? interesting...

It's probably an optical effect.

Well yes, but who's optics !? The spider's, the camera's, or our own ? :) I would be intrigued to know more if it's the spider's own...

Ever take a look at some tigereye stone? It'll be a similar thing. You'd get this sort of effect from having a series of long tubes, with a certain refractive index... like a bundle of fibre optics.

While it's only a guess, this is probably a similar effect.

Still cool, though.
