I have a gooty saphire that we’ve kept for about a year or 2 he’s been eating and drinking well but recently I’ve noticed that he hasn’t been eating and is losing a lot of his size in the rear I haven't seen a molt inside the cage and don’t know if maybe the enclosure is setup improper for an Arboreal tarantula and maybe it wasn’t an issue when he was smaller (I say he but I don’t know the sex) any information and help would be greatly appreciated I’ll post some pics to try and give a better idea of things too

Mature male? We got him as a sling if that means anything so i want to say he’s about 1-2 years old Ive read that males don’t live as long. I’ve seen places saying like 3-4 years but I trust your judgement over mine lol so I’m trying to dig through things to see when I got him then so I can give you a better age of him I tried sexing him a while ago and I thought he was a female but I’ve had 4 ts and he’s the first one I actually tried it on so I could be wrong. Just found it we got him October 2023 so almost 2 years old. Could that still be mature if he is a male?

Age is irrelevant....a male could mature in a year, or it could be four years...there is no definitive age for maturing...two years would be right in the middle.....could live another year plus after maturing.

Don't look through records, just look at the underside of the pedipalps for emboli.
