P.audax i10 Not Eating Enough

Hello,

We have 11 P.audax that we've been raising since they were slings. One of them (Omega) just molted and is now an i10 as of 1/25/2025.
We fed him a mealworm on 2/27/2025 which he ate some of, but not the entire thing or enough for him to put on weight. I just figured he didn't finish it because he felt full enough with his stomach having shrunk so much from molting.

The following day, I tried to feed him a cricket in which he pounced on then would back off, pounce again, and back off, then finally went in for the ki**. However, once again, he barely ate any of it and certainly not enough to put on any significant amount of weight.

Today, was the first time since 1/28/2025 that I tried feeding him again. This time it was one of the smallest mealworms if ever seen (thought behind it was less energy output hunting it) and he refused to eat it and after several hours I took it out of his enclosure.
I also have two others that are also recent i10 and have had no problem with eating or drinking.
Funny enough, the reason behind us naming him Omega is because he was the last sling to eat (F.F.F.) which were days after all of the others. I am not sure if that has any relevancy?
Another thing I noticed is he's been "cleaning" his fangs quite a bit and for longer than normal (normal in comparison to his siblings). This is a stupid question, but is there a such thing as "teething" but spider fang version and that could be a possible reason for him not eating or not
eating nearly enough when he does eat?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

How did you feed him a mealworm in February 27, 2025?

But seriously, if the abdomen is fat the spider is probably not hungry. If it is refusing food after a molt, it's normal too, just try again in a few days. If the spider is in a web hammock, he's probably in pre-molt.

Post some pics of the spider.

Hello,
I just put the mealworm in his enclosure, like I have done with all of his feeders. I've never used or have had to use a feeder cup with him.
I will provide a picture of him tomorrow.
Also, we just ordered bottled blue spikes to pupate as one thing Omega did always love was his Hydei flies when he was younger. I feel really bad that I haven't ordered or done this a lot sooner!

It doesn't sound like anything to worry about to me. As they get older they will occasionally just not want food for a while, then they get hungry again. As long as the abdomen is a decent size I wouldn't worry yet. Do you have pics?

Nice name btw - my female Regal jumper is named Alpha lol

Aww that's a lovely name!
I have noticed that even my i9 spood (Hulk who was the biggest of them all) abdomen does not slim as quickly as it used to.
So instead of feeding, I try to supplement that with what I call "play time". I've made a playground/obstacle course for them. Of course there are times when they just don't feel like being social or playful with me, but still will roam around their enclosure.
I am going to try to provide a most recent pic of Omega which is now today (2:11am) and i do have to work in 8hours so 🤞 I will be able to get a chance.

Bro it's only the 2nd of February today so how did you feed it 25 days in the future that's what we're asking

😆 I didn't realize I typed out the date wrong. I meant JANUARY, not February. Sorry about that.
But good news! He ate a wax worm today!!

Good News Indeed, Time Traveling Spiders can be Very Unpredictable.
Seriously, I'm glad to know Omega is doing better.
Best Wishes for the Future ;)
