I did not see this posted anywhere on the forums, (I might have missed it) but figured it would be good to post here.
I have seen a lot of owners asking about what can happen with a bite, or new owners perhaps not knowing what "medically significant" venom is.

Gives specific species in the report as to the effects on humans after the bites occurred. Good information. :geek:
Report is from 2009 but still medically significant, and hopefully more will be done to research venom effects.
(not meant to scare people, only to further education and RESPECT of these beautiful creatures!)

I have seen the bite reports of course.
Just didn't see anything from the Journal of medicine that actually lists it together.
Can delete if repeat information but thought it was medically pretty good. *shrugs*

Oh thanks too @YungRasputin you reminded me to post an article I came across that has positively used venom for a new medicine.
IBS sufferers might have some new hope thanks to T's! Weeeeeeeee!

I'll just add it here :geek: :geek:

the underlaying principle on how spider venoms developed should be applicable to theraphosidae as well

quite interesting that most spider venoms seem to be at their core just a series of random duplications and mutations of a single gene.

might need to do some more research to understand all the details of their study, especialy on the molecular level

personally i would assume that the higher the evolutionary pressure the greater the need to develop more potent venoms.
