Love the pics shell, he's adorable.
Thanks, so far he has been an awesome puppy! Only one accident in the house, and it was right in front of the front door, so he knows what he is supposed to be doing. My son and him are already quite bonded. I just overheard my son making up and singing a "go to sleep" song, and Bruce seemed to be in heaven having his belly rubbed and being sung to lol. He seems to be fitting in great so far (although the cats may not agree). One thing that I love is that while he is a typical playful puppy, he also respects the kids a lot. He doesn't bite them and climb all over them. He will happily play with them, but won't maul them. With both my kids having autism that is a huge plus.Love the pics shell, he's adorable.
Thanks, and thanks. Mouse (the ragdoll) is...special lol. We love her to death, she has a lot of character, but she is extremely dumb. The breed doesn't have a ton of variety in bloodlines, and I am pretty sure she is quite inbred. They are a beautiful breed though, they've always been my favorite cat breed. I looked around for years before I got Mouse, we love her in spite of her lack of intelligence (actually it's quite endearing just how special she is lol).Cute! I've never been around one, but I do think they are gorgeous dogs. Though, I have to say I love your ragdoll. I have a snowshoe, and I did consider a ragdoll before I got him. They always remind me of a fluffy version of the snowshoes.
Thanks I tend to agree, they look like hounds without them done (and while I love hounds I wanted a Dobe). He goes into my vet on thursday to get the stitches out and the sponge off, and then I can start taping them. The vet that did them apparently does such good work that it doesn't take long to get them to stand on their own. He could really care less about his ears though, he is too busy playing, and tormenting the cats.Love him Im glad you decided to go with the cropped ears- IMO they are what make a doberman a doberman, they just arent the same without them!
It's true. While I am generally opposed to ear cropping for many breeds (pitts, etc.) because I don't like the look on them or see the purpose, Dobies aren't dobies without it. I hate to admit it but I would want cropped ears too. And it does help with infections a lot. I have a great dane which I did not crop and I do not regret the decision to leave his ears natural as they are soooo big and floppy and cute, especially when he was a pup and each was as big as his head- plus it is a rare dane that has a good crop job anyway, they always fall or distort or are cut way to short. But he does have a tendency to build up dirt in his ears very quickly and has to be diligently cleaned or he gets an infection. For danes it was done traditionally with similar reasoning as the dobie- they were boar hunting dogs and big floppy ears just get ripped off. Since mine only hunts for spots on the couch and I don't like the look on danes, no reason to do it besides infections so I just clean them frequently and he stays infection-free.Thanks I tend to agree, they look like hounds without them done (and while I love hounds I wanted a Dobe). Love that little puppy, so adorable. I actually intended to get a dobie but my dog fell in my lap by chance via some friends who "littered." I have always liked them, they are really sweet dogs. Congratulations.
Thank you, we love him. He has been a pretty good puppy so far. My daughter isn't overly fond of him yet, but that's because he's a puppy and hasn't quite learned proper manners. Once he is less "annoying" lol she will love him as much as the rest of us (she loves dogs, just not when they're in your face). In the meantime, I make sure she has her own space that he can't get at, and am working very diligently about teaching him proper manners around the kids.Dobies and Rottys are my favorite breeds by far. Awesome pup you got there!!! I need a doby
Thanks, Jaymz He's cute, but he's a brat. I can't wait for the puppy biting phase to be over. You correct him for biting, and he gets sassy and tries to bite again...*sigh*. I promise to be a good friend, and start texting you more updates, I've just been so busy. How's my girl, Kai?Monkey!
The little monster looks awesome! love his ears! i want tons of updates!

They really are awesome dogs, they do not deserve the bad rep they have.Dobermans are superb dogs!
Lol, give her a hug for me. Then get your damn passport, and her paperwork and come for a roadtrip. Bruce and Kai can get to know each other, they are unofficial cousins after allKai is doing very well... outside for some romp time before i have to go to work. being her typical beagle self. "i must sniff everything! oh crap i missed a blade of grass!!!!"
