I dont see these guys often, but when I do its in mass numbers. There were literally thousands covering the kaliche roads on my ranch. I could see the large ones as I was driving, cause they looked like big black sticks, and tried to avoid running them over.

Yeah, I know what you mean! Some years, almost nothing, then, they're all over the place, esp. in the early morning. Hard, almost impossible not to run over some when they get like that. I don't know exactly where you are but, do you ever see the smaller black ones that aren't as common? Can't remember the name. About 3 inches, black with what almost looks like thin white bands? I've got one right now, it just molted. Ha, I'm not a millipede person, it's the only one I have. But, I picked it up anyway, don't really know why. I think it was a first night on a hunt and I don't like to come back with nothing.

They do it because the grass is always greener on the other side. :p
