Well, a year has now passed since this urgent FedEx delivery reached me...
Last year around this time I treated myself to a Buripes (then L1!) And so far have not regretted the investment (80 € including shipping from Poland). So far it has been outside very relatively often. It grows rather slowly, currently it has a body length of a good 2 cm. This week it shed its skin and because of its small size, I guessed it was a male. Today I had discovered the skin under the microscope and a spermathecae (at least that's what I imagine)...
One of my worst eaters. One or two crickets a month, more is not desired.
I tend to keep it moist from the start, like with Theraphosa, for example. Enough substrate and plants - it seems to be working.

Does anyone have comparative values or other experiences with this species?

Here are a few impressions:

I see body length is 2cm, but what about DLS? Thanks for sharing, I really want to pick up one of these when I can

Pretty I remember when they were exposed.

I also remember they were illegally collected.

I can remember that well, but there are many, too many kinds of such reports. But here you can say: a small removal has led to a growing and already large stock in the hobby!

He turned out male and no female was available, so I sold him. But he was doing fine all the time, no special husbandry is needed. They are bad eaters sometimes...

I feel you. My female is about 7-8cm DLS and still only eats pre-killed to this day. :shifty:
Was just discussing with my wife how boring bad eaters are. Kind of why I'm very drawn to the heavy South American terrestrials, as they just hammer meals every single time. Having to spoon feed natural predators is pretty lame lol

What kind of enjoyment do you get out of this spider? Is the behavior at least interesting? It obviously looks amazing.

If it’s feeding response is off it may mean we aren’t keeping them optimally.

I think they eat when they are hungry. They can be fast, but are not very active. My b s never looked too thin... I think a little moisture and enough substrate are absolutely fine.

I think this may be a similar case to T seladonia. They do fine if kept a certain way but still have a lackluster feeding response. Once kept a little more optimally, the feeding response becomes much better.

Yes, made the same experience. I often had problems after molts; T. S. seem to be more stressed after a molt than other ts.

At first I was experiencing the same thing, but once I changed up my husbandry of them a little, they did well. My slings are at half an inch and consistently take food 2-3 days after a molt right up until they go into premolt. So all of a month 🤣
