My first Omothymus violaceopes sling is due to arrive tomorrow and I feel like a kid at christmas!!
I’d like to hear other people’s experiences of owning these beautiful T’s

Out more often than not as it reaches maturity. Super fast. Prone to threat pose than retreat if feels threatened (rehousing). Individual experiences may vary.

super fast you weren’t kidding first thing it did was bolt but had the trusty catch cup at the ready haha settling in nicely now tho

I have two and mine don’t move that fast, and if I ever see them I considerate it my lucky day lol.

Never saw mine as a sling. Lived in a hole, all I would see is when it push the molts up.

As mine has grown she is out much more often, but that’s not all that often. When she is out however, she doesn’t immediately bolt back into her burrow. She goes into, “I know he can’t see me” mode by covering her carapace with her legs.

Shes absolutely gorgeous man how long you had her?

I have two and mine don’t move that fast, and if I ever see them I considerate it my lucky day lol.

Tried to get mine in it’s enclosure this morning and it ended up on top of it lol

A couple of years now. Snagged her as a juvie female from @cold blood. I would highly recommend him as a source to anyone who wanted one, or more, if he’s still breeding them.

I’ve only ended up with males. Fast, photosensitive, great appetite, needs a bit of moisture, sexually dimorphism too

Luckily caught a glimpse of it exploring the enclosure last night!

Looks like that one kid playing hide-n-seek, covering his/her eyes saying “You can’t see me!”
