Hi all,
Whilst I was in the middle of an inventory book pull, I noticed a bug book, in the kid's section. Of course, I looked through it..:) There was a really GORGEOUS pede in it. Of course, being that it was a kid's book, it wasn't very precise.
The pede was orange and black. The coloration started at the head. It was in alternating bands of orange, then black, all the way down. All it was called was a Tiger Centipede. Anyone heard of this?
Peace,
Gillian

I've heard of a couple sp. referred to as "tiger" centipedes, but a common name like that isn't nearly enough to go by as far as pinning down any possible id. If you could scan a pic, that would help a bunch.
LOL! A while back, on kingsnake.com a dealer was selling those red Scolopendra sp. as "Fire Engine Red Centipedes". =D I got a kick out of that. How far will they go with the crazy common names? :?
