Paul,

That's a pretty accurate description of mine as well. Yeah, I didn't think Egypt would be that humid for getting so little precipitation. That's interesting. Thanks for the info.

William,

Any idea if they're mature size?

No probs. I'm not totally sure, I think B. occitanus can reach about 4" or so. For some reason, I think the Buthus sp. will be around 3". I'm gonna say yes, if not they have to be approaching their last molt.

Joe, has he had any water lately? I've found scorps are pretty responsive to drinking from a water color brush, even the desert species like it! I just gently apply a drop to their chelicerae and they drink it right up! Time consuming but worth it to know they're getting the moisture they feel they need. You can tell when they're drinking it because their arms sort of move back and forth ever so slightly. Also, at first they see the brush as a threat, but if you apply it gently they soon realize it's a source of water and calm down enough to drink! When they're finished they back away!

No he hasent drank that I know of I havent seen him in the waterdish or any tracks in it. I think I will try that sounds like a good idea. Reminds me of a guy who was giving water too a deadly desert snake on animal planet and the snake was loving it. Paul do you have any pics of Omani nebo scorpion I see you have them on your list Iv only seen a couple pics of them in the scorpion files. Would be cool too see some. Thanks for the idea about the water brush.:)

Joe,

Could you provide two pics for me? One of the telson from the side and the other of the underside of the beast (taken through a clear-bottomed container)? Might go a long way towards ID.

Cheers,
Dave

P.S. You want Nebo, here's Nebo: :D
