IME the Cobalt would rather dive for cover init's burrow if it is disturbed, while the P. murinus is more apt to just go plain psycho over a little disturbance. If I mess with or very close to my cobalt's burrow it will attack.

The only T I have that has shown any attitude thus far has been a Vagan Sling. it is all of a 1/2 inch and gave me the arms up pose before darting for cover.

hmm come to think about, I bet they look "hot" in thongs. Usambara in a thong eh, now that's some "hot" stuff there(I bet pixie looks hot in a thong).

Any ways I belive they do have hot venom. Read some bite threads.

have a nice day

I don't think either is 'agressive' unless you mess with it's "personal space". Of the members of those species I've had, I've found the P. murinus "usumbara" to be ALOT faster. It is also usually alot more visible, and therefor, more likely to 'interact' with you during routine care than an H. lividum.

Hehe, I have a feeling I'm gonna be "paying" for my Freudian slip for quite a while, LOL!!!

Funny you should mention it, there is a pic of me in a thong out there!!! Now you have to find it!

hmmm, where does this thread go from this junction?!
Not giving in to my baser urges, I guess I'll stick with the subject, lamenting what could have been :D

Onward:

I found my H lividums to be very secretive, and rarely out of their burrows. I had to dig them up for shipping not long ago, and one of mine is really docile (and handlable). The other, was not pleased at losing her home, and gave me a nice threat posture.
My usambaras, OTOH, are generally out and about more often.
MOSTLY, they will run and hide, but if they can't get to a retreat, they will stand their ground and strike.
I have found the behaviour of both to be very different IME

I would have to say that my lividum is considerably faster footed than my Usambara, but the Usambara has arboreal like foot pads and can climb a lot better.

As for which one I think is more aggressive, I'd say the Usambara is much more defensive, but predictable. I know that any time I clean her cage she's going to go into a stridulating leg slapping fit. But, the lividum makes me a little more nervous since it's hard to say what mood she's in. And when she flips out she bites first and asks qustions later.

That should be added to the bite reports section. To actually get a bite filmed is amazing!

I would say neither of them compare to the haplopelma minax, aka Thailand black, those bastards are mean as poop and defensive as all hell, same with KBT's (king baboon tarantulas)
