Well, for better or worse we got the sac. We ended up flooding her out, since we are able to get water directly to the bottom layer of the tank. It took a few hours, but eventually she came to the top of the burrow, butt first with the eggsac underneath her. We tried to get a spatula handle underneath her, but she bolted leaving the eggsac behind. We quickly grabbed it out and got that darn lid shut without incident.

The eggsac was soaked and i destroyed it getting the eggs out. No eggs with legs yet and honestly we don't know whether they are viable or not, or whether i have taken out all the bad ones. We watched Robc's video and made an incubator out of things we already had.

i spread out the eggs to a single layer, removed all the dark ones with a pin and tried to get as many of them unstuck as i could. i feel bad, because i squished a few in the process. i count 156 when i put it in MSpaint and draw circles, otherwise i lose count!

Here is the tank right before flooding

Here she is right before i tried to squeeze a spatula in beside her and she bolted.

and here are the eggs, i see squished ones that i need to remove, but i didn't include them in the count. i am tired though and will do it tomorrow.

and here is our incubator

So, now what? i know i need to pull up the trusty search engine and get to work(and i will in the morning), but any advice?

 Congratulations, you got it away from her! They look a little dark to me, but then it could just be the lighting. I would definitely remove the darker ones, and the ones that are milky/not transparent looking.

We have gone through and removed the milky ones and the darker ones. We were unsure whether the milky ones were bad, or just more developed, which is why we left them. We also tried to take a picture with the light underneath them, but don't really know what we are looking for.

Does it look like we have separated the bad ones out? Do you think we are going to have spiderlings on our hands?

Thank you for your help!:D

If I'm not mistaken, I see some development in a few of them!!

I have a feeling those are all infertile, but then again on some eggs I see what could be legs, hard to tell from those pics. Keep them until they start popping into eggs with legs or spoil.

PS: The humidity is way to high in that setup imo.

That picture was taken right after the contents had been microwaved, before it was fully cooled down and the eggs placed in it. There is now very little condensation.

What kind of picture do you need? Let me know and i will try and get one.

Gonna have to agree. 'development' = protein denaturing IMO
Just something about them, all my eggs stayed quite turgid. but then I've not seen as many as talkenlate.

But hey I'd love to be told I was wrong in this case.

GOOD LUCK

Eggs that are fertile just don't look like that. It could be the lighting in the photo that is making it look like that but I doubt it.
And I do have to ask why you decided to take the sac 5 days after it was laid? :?

Good eggs picture.

I don't think they knew when the sac was laid, and were afraid that it would hatch in the enclosure, leaving them hundres of little 'uns to round up. First-sac jitters!! ;)

We had no idea how long ago it was laid. She went into hiding a month or more ago, so we took the sac to avoid removing all the plants. The tank just has too many hiding places in it to even think about rounding up tiny spiderlings.

The eggs are laying on black panty hose, could that be why they look funny?

She was WC and bought the first of December, so we have no idea if they are going to be fertile or not.

Hows the mother doing? Definately will be intresting to see what happens with the eggs.
Her burrow is very moist, so she has been hanging out in the tunnel. We tried to feed her, but don't think she's eaten yet. She was very defensive when we attempted to interact with her, so we are leaving her alone and hoping she gets one of the roaches running around.

Here is some pics of her last night.

He is agreeing they are infertile.

No I think they look like that because they are infertile. But I hope I am wrong.

What I was saying is that the 'development' Mizm is referring to is just the internal chemical reaction going on inside the egg, or in otherwords the rotting.

If you look at the picture of fertile eggs they look shiny, and "full" of liquid.

the eggs in question look exactly like the phantom sac I had years ago from a G. rosea

ANY WORD from the OP ??

Nerri!!! Translation please, I'm blonde again. (Well, except for the roots!)
When you cook an egg, that is protein denaturing.
the thickening, and the 'changing' of the proteins.

Thank you dear, now I get it. I had no idea what the little white spots were, I don't pull sacs 'till they're pulsating!!!:D I could tell there was something in there, just didn't know what!

Wow, the mother looks really plump for just having laid a sac!!
