In my opinion the hex you have sounds good. Put about 10" of potting soil/peat moss mix and let the cobalt burrow!! The Goliath Baboon is not really that bad, I never see it!! I know it has the bad temperament of all baboon spiders, but as long as you don'tplan on handling the spider they are no worse than a cobalt. As for what you said about ugly, well, it is just brown, so it's a matter of personal choice.

although ive only had my baboon for a week, it has never shown a threat posture, just runs in to its burrow. And its quite large, big enough to hurt me anyhow :p

Are Cobalt's pretty good eaters? My smithi and seemanni haven't been eating very much at all in the last month or so. One or two cricks once every two weeks or so. They're usually ravenous....Seasonal thing, maybe?

Well so far my Rio Grand Gold hasn't extensively burrowed yet. She's only a little, tiny, 3 inch specimen. My Andean Stripeleg burrows more than the Rio Grand Gold. She has a nice little burrow underneath some terrarium moss. I just like the light peach color of the Rio Grands though. They are very nice looking Tarantulas.

I've noticed that Luci tends to tell me when she wants to eat. Basically her wind up is to run laps around her tank foraging for crickets. Tonight I've fed her because she was exhibitting her "I'm hungry." ritual.

Okie dokie, just one last Q on this subject.

All the caresheets I see say H. lividum should been kept significantly warmer than my other Ts, but the bigger heating pads say not to use on plastic tanks. Can I use 2 of them on diff. sides?
