Normal Emp behavior?

I have this emperor thats about 1.5" I had it since it was real small . Its molted once in the year + Ive had it. The weird thing is that it hides under its water dish where its really damp. Having other emps I realize they like a damp ( not wet ) soil to burrow in. But this one is actually knocking water out of the water dish and flooding its little cavern. Is this normal?

My first emp did something similar... every time I turned around he was flipping over his water dish and digging around in the "mud". No matter how high I raised the humidity in his encloser he continued to flip that damn dish! I finally just gave up and got used to the fact that I would have to turn the dish back over and fill it again every day.

The two emps I have now do not have the same habit.
