No room left for tarantulas, but still bring them home, anyone else do this?

So I know I have no room left really for tarantulas, maybe a few spaces but not ideal, yet the other day I bought a P.chordatus, which is now ontop of a shelf of 10 other tarantulas and in the other room Ive opened up a honeymoon hotel for tarantulas since I have two friends tarantulas that I have been asked to breed, so the lovers are staying over for a while. (they dont "keep" tarantulas, they just have one, and a male) Like i said no room left at the Inn

thankfully We are moving house in June.

Is this just a me thing? Or do you buy before you find space at home.

I usually realize I'm completely out of room about ten minutes after I make the purchase. It's superbly funny after reptile shows when I'm on the way home and I get a good giggle because I have absolutely no idea where I'm going to put it.

I also think it's funny when I buy a spider and I don't have any enclosure to put it in. Surprise trip to Walmart for the win!

part of finding a suitable tank is the fun part for me too, ive normally got the tank but my BF is still saying no... or i have to swap a new tarantula for an old one which sucks because ideally id like 300 tarantulas really lol

I have learned that you need to have a lot of the same container to organize. When I am out of room I rearrange to make more room. I insulated and electrified on outside storage shed to make more room, but I am running out of room again. I guess I will have to start putting animals in my house again...Sigh

I have a 12' x 13' bed-room with
80+ Ts I havent got the room for all of them either
for full adult sizes, they all have cages:bruised:

Im a builder. When the day comes that i run out of room for ts i will just do an addition or knock out a wall or something haha.

Yep, I had to buy a shelf this weekend lol. I do have a room I can use for spider storage though... when I get around to it. It's poorly insulated and gets too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter (which is why it's an unused room for anyone in the house), so I have to solve that issue before I can utilize it.

That said, there's always room for more spiders - just buy slings! lol

LOL when i saw this i had to laugh as im the same way. i really dont have room but does that stop me at all. i have some coming in wensday and now that i got my taxes back im going to the reptile show this weekend and will probably be picking up some more T's. i do know that next year when my daughter goes into the airforce i will be using her room to house my T's.

I bought a shelf this past weekend as well lol. I have my current t's on a dresser but I'm planning on getting some new ones soon so I figured I might as well level up before I get them! I also have all of my supplies hanging out in two buckets some bags and bricks of eco earth I need for rehousing and some critter keepers with different sized crickets all over my room lol. This shelf will be sooooooo worth it once I get it put up. Plus I have the new enclosures I haven't gotten set up yet and the box with the shelf in it still sitting on the floor, I have a busy weekend or two ahead of me.

I share a 9'x10' bedroom with my boyfriend (we live with my parents for the moment) and it was already crowded before I got into T's. Not only is most of our stuff in here (some lives in the basement) we also have a full bed, 2 book shelves, a nightstand, a table, a 4'x2'x2' Chameleon screen cage, and a cabinet with a glass door with a 20"x16" hex tank for the frogs. I have 10 T's, 6 are slings, 3 are juvies, and 1 adult, and as it is I have 2 slings in my nightstand, 2 slings and a juvie on my bookshelf, 2 sling and a juvie in my cabinet, one T (the adult) on the floor (it's too tall to fit on the bookshelf) and one juvie on my boyfriend's bookshelf. He was not terribly pleased. He also wasn't pleased when he came home from work the other day to learn that my collection had jumped from 6 to 10 in a day. LOL. He thinks I have too many, I don't think I have nearly enough. I told him when we get a place that I want an extra room just for my T's. Only 2 of the ones I have now are dwarfs, the rest (if female) can reach between 6 and 9 inches so I'll eventually need room for a bunch of terrestrial cages. While we don't have much room I do have room for more slings :sarcasm: but don't we all.

Like some of you my Ts are confined to a small bedroom too (I have no clue of the dimensions). I have room right now, but once they start growing up I'll have to get a little creative with the terrarium placement. My wish list still has two more Ts and a pair of scorpions on it too. I'm confident I could squeeze all of the adult enclosures in there if I got a shelf. There would be enclosure everywhere though, not that I'd be complaining, but I'm sure other family members would :sarcasm:

My T's (and phasmids) are in the living room, and I'm only allowed one small bookshelf. So everything gets stacked and balanced and taped down if necessary. But everything still fits. I could move them to my room but I'd have to heat it and I need my bedroom cool.

If I'm at a show or a pet shop and I see something rare or at a good price then I will snap it up, after all you can always shuffle others around temporarily and make room until you get it it's own enclosure rather than miss out... Or at least that's how I justify it to myself
