Heres my 61/2" female Nhandu colloratovillosus
She has quite a temper, never hesitates to show a threat display and slap the ground with her front legs!!

wow, this thread is great. i just purchased a N. carapoensis at the tampa fire convention, and had never heard of this t before. she is beautiful and i have a lot of answers to temperment questions now. i keep her in a peat/vermic mix and didn't know if she will burrow or if she needs a burrow. i have noticed she eats a lot. i could not find this t in any of my reference books, is it a new category formarly of a different genus?

My Nhandu

a while back the labels fell off tanks and i am somwehat confused as both look the same to me...

I'm pretty sure this is the N. chromatus

and this is the N. coloratovillosus before a molt, it molted 2 days ago and has been rather shy.

My beautiful female N. chromatus. She's certainly one of the jewels of my collection. Great attitude, very active, and always visable. She's so great, she got the spot on the table by my bed so I can watch her every day!

Hehe...to be honest, I didn't even know that was yours until you replied to this. I have a couple and one is the same size. I definitely need to re-organize my picture folders, as some of them aren't organized at all!

Hows she doing anyway? Has she molted?

Sure has. She's a 5 inch beast, now! I can't wait for her to get even larger. She's become one of my favorite tarantulas.
