here is what i think....mealworms arent always the best feeders....but they are always the easiest to take care of..... heres a story.....a long time ago i had a collared lizard, and i had a mealworm colony for his feeders, in a rubbermaid tub.....well the lizard died, and stuff got packed on top the mealworms, and they stayed there for about a year and a half.....then when i was doing some cleaning, i noticed the tub, and was dreading opening it cause it was going to be distgusting....well to my suprise they were fluroushing.....beetles, larvae, pupae, all kinds of them....just them and dry oats....so they are very easy to take care of...i now have a colony of 2,000....but mainly only feed em to my geckos and beardie, cause i dont see why a tarantula would be interested in them....and i am not positive, but have read that the beatles are toxic......
