I had the same dilemma with the A. geniculata and N. chromatus, chose to get a 4" A. geniculata female then ended up getting a tiny N. chromatus sling as a freebie a couple of months later.
Both are awesome T's, my A. geniculata is just a ravenous death machine and my N. chromatus is turning into a little ninja assassin, seen him/her make some crazy takedowns.
Definitely get a versicolor, they're cool T's and they go through some amazing colour changes as they grow, the biggest of my 2 is starting to get her adult colours now... Aaaand now I want more Avics.

if you use metal tongs around them for cleaning, etc. They WILL try to eat them and it can break a fang. If I'm doing maintenance I try to do it away from where she is at the moment.

I use bamboo tongs but will keep them away from her just in case. I'm very aware of the "MY T RAN UP MY TONGS AND TAGGED ME OMG" stories in the Bite Reports as well :D
