I got my juvenile N.Incei yesterday and set them up in their enclosure. They immediately webbed up their coconut hide and stayed there still night time. They've been out and about and have done some more webbing in one corner of the enclosure and have hunkered down there. Does the Tarantula look OK? Is it stressed?

Its now curled up in what I think is a stress pose, I added more water to their bowl, gave them an extra piece of wood to hide behind and have put a cloth in front of their shelf so they can't see me moving around. Advice please!

Thank you! I listened to Tom's Big Spider podcast and was reassured 😌 I'll leave them alone for a while.

Not sure if it's the angle of the picture, but it looks like quite a big enclosure for your T. What size is the T and the enclosure? As has been said, they can take a while to get settled into a new enclosure.

A larger enclosure can still work if set up correctly, but the substrate to lid distance is a concern. For a terrestrial, 1.5x the DLS is recommended. For settling in, I normally don’t bother mine for a week after a rehouse.

Cage height looks fine for this species, they will web everything and create there own "soft landing."

OP: Let it settle in and don't disturb for a few days.

I’ve owned this species- I always side with caution.

My juvenile Incei is in a 6.8"*6.8"*6" acrylic enclosure with a magnetic lid. They have 2 inches of soil and coco coir substrate. They have a buried coconut hide, twigs and a fake plant. They are between 4-5cm atm.

They are big webbers. It may be helpful to add another plant to help them feel secure/have anchors for webbing.
If you like plastic plants, they make some with a suction cup that are nice for those who love to web.

You could possibly add a bit more soil when it settles in a few days, as they are terrestrial and burrow.
Otherwise, kudos to you for your enclosure! Tom is the best 🤩

Give it a week or two and see.

Thank You! I'll definitely add another inch of soil and find another plant for cover and maybe some leaves. I added vertical twigs and branches for anchor points but maybe they'd prefer more plants.

Twigs are great! Plants will provide more cover. :) The more you add, the more prone they are to get comfy and make it home. :)
