I have 4 orthoporus ornatus desert millies and rn I have them in a mostly filled with substrate critter keeper. I’m looking to upgrade them into something with more space but also something I can jazz up a little more. I have some older wood that I’m not sure if it’s aquarium wood or reptile wood (drift wood or something maybe not supposed to be in water I’m not sure if there’s really any difference) that has never been used. But would it be ok to add the into the set up I’d like to build. Like are there certain materials that I need to absolutely avoid or would things be ok as long as they are organic and generally not poisonous?

Do you have any pictures?
You want to avoid softwoods,
but most aquarium/reptile woods are ok for decor.

Softwood trees (e.g. pine, cedar) typically contain oils or saps that are toxic to inverts.

Your wood looks like mopani wood. It's a safe one!
I use it with my roaches and isopods.

Leaves and rotting bark/wood scattered along the top also gives it a good, "natural" aesthetic :) Like @BepopCola said, softwoods, aromatic woods, and evergreens are a no-go
