It certainly looks like Rhysida celeris andina but whatever it is I like it

It is not Rhysida celeris andina as this species is only known from Peru... Mexico has plenty of species, so it is not possible to id it with this pictures!

Just because the poster said it was from Mexico does not mean the pede is from there. It could be a traveler from Peru. We do not know where the pede came from but that looks like Rhysida celeris andina to me. I had 4 and that is what I think it is. Without better pics we cant tell for sure.

It would be cool if you shared some information as to how you came to this conclusion, when you make such clear statements. Im not to familiar with Rhysida, but I would have thought that the pictures are too crappy to make any assumptions what so ever. That it isnt known from mexico doesnt mean that there arent any around.

What ever it is, it looks awesome!

While not impossible that it could have come in via the port(Cancun), it bears a resemblance to the one in the above thread. But, since we can not derive the taxonomic characters from the photo that determine Rhysida it shall remain a mystery. Venezuela has a number of Rhysida & of course, it could be a 'pede that were just not familiar with.
