I doubt that ones 5 but some can get close. Until recently all the captive ones hit around 3 and 1/2 ish with a few topping 4 but not too long back some came in from a locale that supposedly gets near 5.

Mandarins are cool, but I've never really been fond of the gray base color. I can think of a few Asian rats I prefer, as far as looks go. E. carinata are E. conspicillata two.

Well to each their own I suppose but you would certainly be in the minority not seeing the beauty of mandarins. The contrast is amazing and they are as brightly colored as it gets.

Conspiculata while cool is still mighty hard to come by. There are only a couple of folks that have them in the states and the breeding has just gotten off the ground with them. Carinata while I agre they look nice are not real big in the hobby. they seem to be regarded as a cheap garbage snake for lack of a better term. I myself think they look nice and with the new morphs that have hit they are even nicer but my opinion alone won't change the way the hobby views them.
