Hi, I bought a Phidippus Cardinalis from a local reptile expo yesterday. She hasn't eaten anything since Thursday, which is when the vendor said he last fed her. I should also add that she was wild caught a few weeks back. She had a nice plump abdomen and was immediately very social when I brought her home and handled her, with no obvious issues or anything. Earlier today, she was acting perfectly fine but when I went to check on her earlier, I noticed that her abdomen was a significantly smaller size and there was a pretty large amount of orange/brownish fluid in the corner of her enclosure/ It also appears to look like it has little white circles in it and I can't possible think of what it could be. I first thought that it could be a nematode infection, but she isn't showing any signs of that besides a really odd smell and this is a LOT of fluid that she presumably excreted from her abdomen. I've attached pictures of her normal size, and a comparison of her and the amount of fluid that came out of her. If someone could please help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly impacted. That's a huge amount. Usually T poop is white.
@basin79 can you help?
That's honestly what I'm thinking as well at this point. Isn't it weird that she would be acting normally and still being responsive after this happening? I've never had it happen with any of my other spiders before but I hear it almost always kills the spider.

The stuff in the orange glob looks oddly spherical, perhaps she just dumped out all of her eggs instead of making a proper egg sac for them?

That's the very first thing that I thought happened. The seller told me that there's a chance that she could be pregnant, because all of his jumpers were wild caught and it has apparently happened multiple times before. I tried to find info on jumping spiders doing something like that, but I couldn't find anything. I definitely know what you mean about the spherical objects, they immediately struck me as eggs as well.

Yeah. Couldn't figure out. But they do look like eggs.
I imagine she's exhausted. How's she doing?

She’s acting like she normally was. A couple hours after I cleaned it all up, I went in there and poked her around a little bit but not too much to stress her out and she was walking around just fine. Her pedipalps were moving like normal, she was looking around like you’d expect a jumping spider would, and she was nice and active. That’s why I find this so hard to figure out because she seems completely fine. All I know is that the fact that those have to be eggs because I’ve never seen spider poop that color before, and especially that much of it.

Definitely eggs, they should have dried into a more yellowish color if they were properly laid. Stramge that she isn’t acting different, but the eggs were most likely dropped due to stress from the transfer and whatnot.

Yeah stress seems to be what have caused it to happen. Anyways, thanks a lot for your help.

Keepers of all stripes constantly underestimate how powerful and dangerous stress can be. Low light and leaving the animal alone can work wonders.
