Woah, 90 gallon! Now I feel embarassed sittin her with my 5.5 divided diagonally down the middle. My H.gigas really liked it for the first week, then she miraculasly pushed off the top and I haven't seen her in three months.

Can't beleive how simple you made that look. :worship: You do great work bro! Now I've got to get another Gigas.:D Had one awhile ago but never new this was an option. It's a beautiful species alone and than putting a true tarantularium affect into it just excites me.:D ......Again awesome job! :worship:

Man... I had no idea there were T's that liked water that much... I had heard they could swim but I thought it was only out of necessity, like trying to escape. I think this might be the next sp. I look into. Thanks for posting all this it totally changed my shopping list ha ha.

And the communal idea... are these different from the pokies, I mean can you just add another one to the tank and they won't eat each other? Or were you talking about starting a new one with some slings? I heard you mention it in one of the videos but you didn't go into much detail. Just curious.
They are very neat T's...she loves the water! She spends most of her time in or near the pond. She gave me a threat post underwater, upside down yesteday! Very impressive. I put my hand in the water to see what the temp was like and she swam out from under a log and tried to nail me! Apparently that's her pond now and I'm not welcome! As for communal, I'm not sure yet...I had a whole sack live communal until they were 2"+ and no deaths...they all worked together. But I'm not sure if another adult would work...I'm checking into that.

Wow! What an awesome enclosure! It makes me want to get an H. gigas! Are you going to feed her crickets/roaches, or just fish for right now? Please keep us updated on how it all goes.
The fish has higher calcium so I'm going to limit those...but I can always feed her roaches and put them on the water to flutter & let her nail those. :D

You know what they say...size doesn't matter. LOL :D Any tank I'm sure the T's appreciate...I have several 5gal that are small but elaborate. I just like the big display tanks. Rob

Man your enclosures are so beautiful. I just started out in the hobby and the way you treat yours has already inspired me to want to redesign my t's cage. I must say you are quite amazing with designing it and everything. Good job man! Hope it just keeps getting better and better for it. Can't wait to see some vids of it hunting in there.

When you find out please PM me and let me know. I was going to buy a T. Apophysis from reptist, but after seeing these guys AND the possibility that I could keep several in the same tank for the same price, I'm seriously reconsidering. Even if they can't be kept communally, I'll be getting one soon.

Looks great Rob! I never knew about all that!

On a side note, you know my work background and I just wanted to add a little insight. This is not to bash what you are doing at all, this is just to offer some thoughts and concerns that I have regarding the set up. It looks like you have about 3-4 gallons of water?

How big are the fish? My guess that they are the small livebearers if we couldn't see them on video. First off, I wouldn't put too many in there at once because of ammonia spike will kill most of them. Also, the water will be room temp, or 81-82ish degrees? This is very hot for fish and it will allow more bad bacteria to harvest. I would think to add some tetracycline in it initially to kind of keep control a little. Lastly, do you plan to always have fish in there and be healthy? If a fish gets sick because of infection and your T eats it, your T can get sick. Would you go outside to find a cricket and feed it to your T if there is a chance that it isn't 100% healthy? I just think it is hard to monitor a food source inside of a T enclosure.

*on a side note, keep your eyes open for my new enclosure:eek:

They are about 2"....and I only keep them in there for a week then remove them, you are totaly correct on that part, I used to keep fish also....rob

[no words to express the astounishing]

rob you are the man! i want to be just like you when i grow up :D

edit - try capturing some natural behavior in video like she going in or out the water for herself, that would be pretty cool!

I never knew about all that!
My fishing gigas setup has a removable fish-hole to help avoid some issues and make it easier etc, and my gigas has already eaten fish. :} ;)
Mike "troll" dame on another website, gave me the great suggestion of using surveillance camera to film it. I might do this when my workload lightens up a bit.

Thanks conipto for the good idea. ;)
