We put most spiderlings, even tiny little 2nd instar A. minatrix, in 16-24 oz. deli cups with insect cup poly lids using two inches slightly damp vermiculite covered by a bed of damp sphagnum moss as substrate.
I kept my minatrix slings in those setups and they really do seem to thrive. After seeing how well they did in those setups I have been considering moving all my slings into setups like that.

So you changed your mind and went back to buy them, congrats on the additions, but when are you going to start going to meetings for your addiction? ;)

Well even though I got them it was still bitter sweet. This weekend I got a nice nice bedset, and the Metallicas. Today I find out I have a cracked header and my sweet little turd of a car is going to cost me $1000+. So ya. Aint live grand!

I could not get the other 2 they had some health issues and they wanted to make sure they molted ok. I would have gotten all 6 if I could have.

MJ,
interesting point on the avics, which is probably why i dont buy slings of this genus...i have never had good luck with them...but as for the deli-cups, it was surprising seeing slings in such a big container....but if it works dont fix it....

The spiders may have plenty of space in a much smaller container, but I want to provide plenty of AIRspace. An added benefit of this style of cup is that it does not allow pests such as phorid flies to enter the container.

Regards, MJ

Congrats on some awsome T's Talkenlate.

Quick question though, what is a "poly lid" ?

Ill take a picture when I can. Its like a lid with a fabric that is allowing the whole container to breath. So there are holes but behind the holes is this fabric.

Either that or they coudlnt' figure it out and it seemingly went away on it's own. I'd keep watching it just to see. The condensation didn't mysteriously appear for example.

Worse case, you're looking at new head gaskets. Not too bad, a solid day of work + whatever it takes to have a machine do the heads.

(Or probably about $1000+ at a mechanic.)

Well they said they pressure tested my engine for 45 minutes and found nothing. So here’s to hoping nothing fails anytime soon.
It’s not like it’s a big deal if she does die, its my first car and she is going on 9 years with me, and is a 99. So her time is coming. She had 42k when I bought her, now she has 115K.

Don't know about that. I have a 2000 Lexus RX300 with 123k miles on it and the trans went out about 1000 miles ago. Had to pay $3500 to get it fixed. Insane!!! Or maybe I'm the insane one for getting it fixed. The car was just built with a drive train made for a sedan and not an SUV. The cars to heavy which makes the dt work to hard hence the breakage. :wall:

Oh and congrats on the P Metallicas.
