With some predatory fish, they will even refuse frozen foods. I've kept a different species of leaf fish and some would refuse anything but live. Luckily, I now keep a Malaysian gudgeon that will eat anything under the sun despite what care sheets and books have told me haha!

Good to know, Leila. My only personal experience with offering frozen foods involved saltwater systems; the powerheads did a good job of making the food "come alive" for the tank's inhabitants. I recall garlic can be used to entice a choosy fish to eat; maybe that could help as well. I'm sure I'm not telling the OP anything new, haha. I just miss having aquariums to take care of.

Any advice is welcomed! But sadly, this fish died a week ago, i am not sure why though. I dont think i will try to house this fish again, from what i read, they dont take frozen food readily. They are the ambush kind of predators and a floating bloodworm doesnt look enticing enough to eat hah! On a happier note, i picked up this beautiful snakehead. I got her around the same time as my Monocirrhus polycanthus.
Enjoy her beauty!

Beautiful fish. I hear these are quite hardy. Just don't dump it in your local pond ;)

Thanks! They are very hardy, they live in water with very little oxygen! I will never dump her, look at her! Haha, i know the disaster these has caused in the USA. TBH its not the fishes fault, its the irresponsible owners!

Very nice.. Is it in the same family as leaf fish? Ive seen these before back when I used to have freshwater tanks. That thing looks like it can take goldies! its gotta be awesome seeing them gulp down feeders. Its camo looks real nice too. Reminds me a little of my Marble Goby I used to have.(not the camo but the way they ambush)
