My European Mantis Ootheca started to hatch today. I can't believe how much my Chinese Mantids have grown in the past 3 weeks. They are 3-4 times the size of these newly hatched European nymphs.

On a side note I have started seperating some of the Chinese Mantid nymphs. I am going to raise 6 of them. I am putting them in individual gallon jars for the time being. In the Chinese Mantis nymphs there are 2 disctinct sizes. Small and large. The large are just about double the size of the small ones. I am thinking the small ones are males. I am seperating 3 of them first so the large ones don't eat them.

Cool! Good luck with the babies. And I'd second that guess about the little ones being males, assuming they're all the same instar. We may have to wait and see what Padkinson says.
