I use to use sponges for the slings but I changed them every other day. I have stopped using them now, I just dampen the substance alittle and they all do fine now!

The fangs aren't involved in drinking at all. Water is taken in through the "mouth" area via the sucking/pumping stomach. The T will not drown, the setae trap air around the body and some species will even run across the water as an escape strategy (see the pic of the Tapinauchenius sp. on Rick's site). There are also pics floating around on the boards (ha ha I made a funny) of a Hysterocrates sp. swimming.

ok, im gonna ditch the spounges and just have full open water dishes
