Actually Ern,
Emeralds can be red, orange, or green when born. If it is an emerald, its definitely an import. If you are thinking of picking it up, examine it for mites. Then be sure to quarantine it and get fecals taken to a vet. Imports are very difficult to start especially when young and delicate.
