you mean 1/4"

" means inch (measurement like we use cm)

1 inch = 2.5 cm
so 1/4" = about 6mm

hopefully i cleared this one out for you ;)

The Nephilia female molted yesterday night,.... mmmmmmmm i looked at her this morning and thought to myself,... hey she looks really fat ! then i noticed the old skin laying on the ground
i know what u mean :D this happens to me also sometimes...

i think nephila molting looks really incredible because theyre so big and doing this in about a minute or faster (hanging in the air of course)

today i woke up to see that she spun the web new and doubled the size to about 120 cm 2 weeks after a molt .she even walked around at me at night because there where everywhere silk in my face, hair and so on lol (and you know if its nephla silk hehe)

ill get a new camera soon so i will make pics

:D :D :D

i'm really a "rookie" with this nephilia's,...

How can i see when my nephilas are adult ?
and how long does an adult male lives?,.... cause i'm guessing my female isn't adult yet but i guess the male will be adult soon.

should i place the male in "colder" conditions so it won't grow much faster or are their other tricks to let them grow adult at the same time ?

i would really love to get more into this spiders
:}

nephilas living about 12 months from egg to death (could vary).
males living about as long as females but die sooner most time.

sorry im no expert (also due to my lack in english explaining hehe) so i cant say how old your female and male is but i think the female is juvie.

you could place the male colder also but i think you need to know how old they are (if theyre not from the same cocoon)

Nephila females could live up to 3 years if you don't feed them to much. Males about a year. In the wild Nephila males live together with the female in her web and eat leftovers. You could try to put them together....:)

How big is she? When the males are mature they are only a few centimeters legspann. So they are very small compared to the females.

the male is about half the size of the female,...
female is about 10cm leggspan,..so still a lot of growing to do
and hopefully the males won't die before she's fullgrown

i'll keep the males a bit colder i guess :?

i'm thinking to buy some more true spiders next fair :}
(following Aftershock's footsteps ;) =D )
