My friend at Petco just pulled an egg sac from the G. rosea cage. The regional manager made them remove the sac. They don't know how old the sac is but she is kind of small. I feel eggs inside but it doesn't feel like hundreds.

Should I open the sac and incubate?

That would be my suggestion. I don't see it surviving any other way at this point, and even still, it may not survive anyway (or even be any good). Good luck!

Well here they are. I'm putting them inside another container and will see what happens.

Good luck! I'm glad your friend decided to tell you before throwing it away or something. :)

Thanks. I hope I can do it right. There are only 175. Do they need to be just in a humid environment or does it also need to be warm? Is it possible to be too humid?

So this is what most of them look like now. I have no idea if they are progressing normally. It is warm with good humidity. I have been gently turning them a few times a day. Best pic I can get with an IPhone.

They still look good. I don't think you need to worry about turning them anymore at this point.

Wow they look brilliant! You’ve done an awesome job! Will the petco sell the slings after they become 2nd instars?

Thanks. I wish they would but alas they will continue to use wild caught. Nope these are all mine to deal with. I'm glad for the experience and hope I get them through safe and sound.

It's awesome that they're looking so good when they could have ended up in a trashcan somewhere! Best of luck, and I'm interested to hear the outcome. However, in the current market for G. rosea it almost seems like you have to give away the slings free of charge, pay for the shipping, and throw a bonus of like ten bucks toward the people getting them to get rid of them haha. Good luck X)

Hey maybe this could be the 1st male vs female ratio study. Good for you for taking these eggs in and giving them a chance. You're my hero.

I've got a few people locally who said they would take some. I love my rosea but I don't think I have the patience to wait for the years it would take for these to mature. My G. pulchripes is adorable but oh heavens he's growing slowly.

So cool looking! I wonder if the heat is unbalanced even though its a small space. The left side has more developing than the right side of the tank. No EWLs on the right yet.
