It depends on the species...

For Avics, where they live is HOT and humid.. so even though it rains, the temperature is still in the 80s

For desert dwelling species like Brachys, who live in deep burrows... it stays warmer down there than the surface temperature when it rains.

If you keep your temperatures up high enough, misting will evaporate so quickly it won't even help... and it your temperatures are too low, it can chill your T's enclosures too much.

I am no expert! This is just what I am finding out over the past few weeks, in fact

I think Teal is right, misting only solves the problem temporarily. The best way is to wet part of the substrate. It also all depends on airflow. If you have lots of vent holes, then misting isn't really going to do anything at all. We give our T's over 2" water dishes (small ones, like tattoo ink caps, which work phenomenally btw) but any ones less than 2", we mist the tops of their enslosures and that allows the water to drip down through the vent holes.
