Need help/advice A germani

I got an A germani 3 inch female yesterday. I guess I was expecting it to be much larger than it really is and I put it in a 8x10x15 ZooMed enclosure. Last night it was actively exploring the tank. This morning I found it in the corner of the tank (see attached pictures). My questions are:

1. Is the enclosure too large and should I rehouse it as soon as possible?

or

2. Should I let it be and see if it will settle into the new enclosure with more time.

I would honestly prefer option 2 but I want to do what is best for the tarantula.

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

I have a 4 to 5" female and set her up in an 8"x8"x12" herpcult. Before that she was in a 1/2 gallon mainstays container. It takes a little bit for them to settle in, but they're strong hunters and grow pretty quickly so they should be ok in an oversized enclosure. I honestly can't really see the spider in yours, so hard to say.
This is how I have my girl set up- her web nest is in the back right corner behind the bark, she's out to throw away a bolus. 20231230_141423.jpg

Thanks for the reply! It is really hard to see but my T squeezed into an opening between the lid frame and door frame (that’s the 3rd picture but hard to see). That’s why I was a bit concerned it was really stressed from the enclosure since I gave her plenty of places to hide. I am assuming it needs more time to acclimate. There is not a ton of info on this T as far as setups and behaviors.

What type of enclosure do you have? I really like it.

It's a "herpcult large tall" brand acrylic enclosure, but it's the old version and I believe it's been discontinued. You can still find them for sale online sometimes, but they've replaced it with a front opening enclosure that I haven't tried out. As far as setup mine has done great in arboreal setups but with a bit extra dirt like how you would keep psalmopoeus. They are fast moving and good hunters. Mine liked to extend its web tunnel below ground when it was smaller, and it still likes to have dirt to throw on its web tunnel for camouflage. I would give it more time to settle in before you worry too much about it. Here's a pic of mine when I brought her home, you can see they're pretty aggressive hunters 😅: 20220404_163159.jpg

I thought you acquired “a German”, and if so did it come with vials of rare/illegally collected tarantulas.

There is plenty of info about these out there, but it's only been called Amazonius germani for the last 20 months or so. Try researching under the previous names of Tapinauchenius gigas and Pseudoclamoris gigas and I'm sure you'll find lots of info.

That said, I think it'll be fine in that enclosure and just needs time to figure out where it wants to set up home base.
