I found these in Poundland (UK) and they are the perfect size for a juvenile. They were £4 each so I got 3. I will be putting holes in them etc. The only thing I can't work out is the best way to secure the lid. Which can be easily pushed open, any ideas? Measurements are 34.2x20x9.3 cm

Tarantulas. I have 2 terrestrial slings with some growing to do. They won't need rehousing for a while.. they are only 1 cm at the moment

It’s cool they’re clear. I might buy some tomorrow. I recommend the plastic tubs you get from a Chinese takeaway you get your food in. For small terrestrial Ts they’re a good size.

To answer your question I recommend stacking them on top of each other or putting something on the lid.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but these are kinda useless a T will open the lid on that no bother I got one a while back to test too and I have to sit a rock on top to keep the lid down juvenile LP in it and it can push it open. Go to B and M they have a selection all different sizes with secured lids and only £2 to £6. I honestly wouldn't bother only reason my LP is still in it just now is it's due a moult but the container will be getting binned. Home Bargains do a good selection too but there not super clear like that. This is my Amazonius Burgessi in one from B and M think it was £2.50 for this size. Just housed that's why it looks to clean haha moulted in transit 20250205_213510.jpg
It's 4x4x6 inches

Would a cable tie hinge at 1 end and bulldog clips at the other end work? Lol if not I will use them elsewhere.. I have a few months before I have to fully think about sizing up

Yes you could edit it to make it work. You can get strong neodymium magents on Amazon if you could get them attached to it somehow.

if you don't put any vital ventilation into the lid you could just stack them and put a stone on top

(put the ventilation on opposing sides instead to create airflow. one down low & the other high up)

easy peasy, that way you wont have to modify them at all
