This thread was bound to pop up at some point, come on.

This doesn't have to refer to individual "names" or whatever, maybe you could say what you nickname your group of animals, or your nickname for a certain species.

For instance, I call my centrobolus sp. chorizo sausages. (lean back and look at my avatar to see why)

HAHAHA this is great.

I don't have any nicknames for any myriapods but I've been caught blood pythons "attack sausages." I also have a not-so-appropriate nickname for giant black scorpions like Pandinus and Heterometrus.

I have three florida ivories. They're easy to tell apart. I have Spaghetti E. Lee, Rotini S. Grant, and Linguine P. Sherman.
I don't remember how I came up with the names but I'd like to keep the pasta/civil war theme going. Not sure what'd I name the next millipede.

Great thread idea !
My friends call my S. hainanum "the monster" (it's incredibly ferocious, hence the name), and although they're not myriapods I call my burrowing scorpions (O.pallipes) "warrior babies" because they always have their metasoma up lmao

Until I settled on better names, my N. americanus were affectionately referred to as "poop noodle" and "turd log". No one warned me about the impressive volume of poop I'd be dealing with...
