I don't know how I didn't realise. Stripped the enclosure down and low and behold the containers stained. Thanks for your help.

This is why I asked for a picture from within the container, NOT through the container originally hahah :D

If it were mine I would clean the cage, add new substrate and more holes with good cross ventalation.

I couldn't get a picture from within it. The enclosure is too small with the decoration inside for the camera, I didn't want to stress her out thats all. Its sorted Now.

Cleaning the enclosure won't help the staining I'm afraid, the acidity in coco fibre chemicaly alters the acrylic and the plastic is now stained permanently. Their are plenty of air holes for cross air flow.. 42 holes all around the container. She's now been rehoused. But thanks anyway.

I didn't write the second quoted section above; I wonder how that happened?

Ok kev, you keep pointing out the 42 holes in the face of those appealing for more vent holes. Here is the issue and reason it keeps getting brought up. From the pic I can see 4-5 on the bottom, assuming its the same on the other side, that's maybe 10 holes on the bottom, there are also a few that can be seen along the top. Nothing is in the mid range. With the number of holes that can be seen and the number you claim are in the container, that means that at least 30 holes on the lid, or roughly 75% of the holes appear to be on the lid.

The majority of the holes SHOULD be on the sides, in the mid range, not on the lid. Too much top ventilation makes for easy escape of any humidity or moisture that you are attempting to maintain within the enclosure. Your set up clearly has too much top vents and not enough in the middle and that is why your ventilation keeps getting brought up....its not that there isn't enough, its that they are placed poorly.

I hope this makes sense.

There's goes another ELITIST using that math and geometry stuff again! ;)

I was wondering the same thing actually.

Hi there, yeah it makes complete sense but I have to say this.. I understand the cross ventilation. With this tub I've raised 2 avic avics a p formosa and a p irminia as slings individualy and never had any problems at all with them. No one has asked me how i circulate air in my room.. I've got a ceiling fan and an additional ac unit. But to put all in a happy place I've put in a few more holes at mid level. Lol. (if somethings not broke, why fix it?). Thanks to you all for all for your comments and help.

What's annoying me with this is that multiple people have said there is not enough ventilation and you refuse to believe so, if you refuse help, why post a thread in the first place? :/

SO did you have 42 holes originally or not, is ColdBlood's calculations accurate in determining how many holes are there based on the pictures?

How one circulates air in the room doesn't matter too much if there isn't enough ventilation ;)

. Ye there was 42 holes..and his calculations where wrong. There's now 50. That enough! What is the point if people don't listen. Its not me that's not listening. I've reared 3 t's in that tub with no problems at all. So why after 3 years is this suddenly an issue for people. Its never been an issue for me or my t's or a mantis before my t's! I suppose what I had for breakfast is wrong too. I'm done with this!. Can this thread be shut down please!!!!!! Done!
