Since everyone else has been posting pictures of their turtles I thought I would do the same :) Here are Drake (Trachemys scripta elegans) and Molly (Pseudemys nelsoni).

Thanks guys :) It was actually my man who took the pictures so I will pass along the kudos to him! I love how the colors turned out in Drakes eye!

Looking forward to buying a kiddie pool so I can throw the monsters outside for a couple hours a day when it is nice out!

yea tell him great pictures. the kiddie pool works great for a friend of mine who used to frequent this site. we always go 'turtling' to see what we can find. he has 2 eastern painteds, a southern painted, 2 baby 1" snappers, an easter cooter, a common musk, and a RES in a large kiddie pool. all lighting, basking spots, and filtraion are set up and it looks awesome.

The weather has been great lately so I decided to throw the kids outside to enjoy the sunshine! If they werent so bitey I would have been tempted to join them in there...
Drake is the RES (red on the sides of his head), Molly (actually a male...loooong story!) is the Red Belly Cooter (yellow on the sides of his head).

This is where my boys live when they are not outside :) It is a 70 gallon (48x18x18 inches) tank with a basking platform (24x18 inches with UVA/UVB bulbs). I use a Fluval 405 canister filter and an AquaClear 110 for filtration- and then do 3/4 water changes every 2 weeks or as needed. The cardboard is around the outside of the tank because they tend to freak out if they are basking and someone comes downstairs and startles them!

I've never seen someone take such good care of and put so much dedication into their turtles. Props to you! :)

Thanks so much :)

The past couple years have been difficult because I moved from Winnipeg, MB to Fredericton, NB and I couldnt bring them with me because the apartment we were living in didnt "allow animals". However our landlords were awesome and said I could bring my lovebird, 6 leopard geckos and G. rosea on the condition that there were no noise complaints from the neighbors about the bird. Bringing a 70 gallon turtle tank however was a no go.

I was afraid I was going to have to find a new home for my boys, luckily however I have two awesome friends who agreed to do some long term babysitting. One friend took them for a year and a half, and the other for 3 months- at this point I moved back to Winnipeg on a temporary basis and am able to have them back where I am currently living.

I am looking at doing another move in the near future, either Vancouver BC, or to Ottawa ON (where I have a residence)- whichever place I end up I have made it clear that the boys are coming this time!

So it has taken 4 years, but I am finally in a position to bring my turtles back from my parents place (in Winnipeg) to where I live (Ottawa).

I am super pumped because I just purchased a 120 gallon tank (60x18x24 inches) for them - a nice upgrade from the 70 gallon they are currently in! Also going to be upgrading the filtration from the Fluval 405 and AquaClear 110 to a Fluval FX5 (rated for tanks up to 400gal!)

I will be posting picks in the next couple of weeks as the tank arrives and I begin to set everything up!

I made these the other day... Just waiting for the silicone to dry. Hopefully they will stand up to beating they will take from the turtles!

Also need to add more carbon to the filter or something. My filter is rated for 400 gallons (fluval fx6) but my water is already looking cloudy.
