I got mine on the 6th of october. I didn't really grow all that much, i believe something like 1/6 of an inch, but don't put your money on what I'm saying, we use centimeter here, and she grew like 0.4 of a centimeter. An inch is something like 2.5 centimeters. I've read they mature in 3-4 years, so they are not the fastest growers.

Sounds like they grow at half speed compared to pokies

:( and I wanted my eight legged cocoa oreo cookie full grown NOW

Does anyone know when their patterns will begin to show very distinctly? Hopefully we don't need to wait 3-4 years to get the H mac 'look'

Lucky! I got mine on Oct. 29.. I'm pretty sure they're 1st instar based on the size but hopefully they're due for a molt soon too

How much larger did all of yours get? Mine is ~1/3 - 1/2" legspan right now
1st instar they still don't eat on their own, it's not until 2nd or occasionally 3rd instar that slings start looking/acting like T's.

I guess xsyora's maculata must have dialed the wrong number, because i found mine in a new skin today. :}
I think little Micro is going to be in some seriously deep you-know-what when daddy gets the phone bill!!!!! {D

Besides the H. mac, does anyone else know of any slower-growing arboreals??

I forgot that H. macs are even arboreal, since my guy has a little tube web at the bottom of his plants lol He'll grow into arboreal tendencies... when he grows... SOMEDAY...

Should I still be throwing in 1/8" live feeders then? Or should I pre-kill? One of my H macs hunts quite well (only in the dark though) and the other one... well, I'm not quite sure about that one.

I have Avicularia minatrix of different ages, and they take eons to grow. My largest molts quite often, but doesn't seem to gain much size with each molt. I don't have any adults, but I understand that they take several years to reach adult size.

No, I was just saying that yours is likely 2nd instar, not first. 1st instars are usually kept in the incubator and slings aren't sold until 2nd instar.
